Hello, I’m Annahita (Ahh-nuh-hee-ta), and I’m honoured to make your acquaintance.
A well-lived ife requires one to go through peaks and valleys, forgoing the notion of a linear constructed life. I love Fred Roger’s (yes, Mr. Rogers!) quote above, because sometimes we are too preoccupied with our existing (and status quo) suffering to have foresight into something potentially wonderful.
My approach to therapy Is collaborative, empathic, and non-judgmental. I believe that each client is unique and deserves an individualized therapy plan that considers your specific needs and preferences. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, while also offering guidance and feedback as needed.
I take an integrative approach to therapy by drawing on both psychodynamic and humanistic frameworks that are highly effective, such as, cognitive-behavioural, and mindfulness-based therapies with a trauma-focused lens. I completed a trauma-sensitive & trauma-informed mindfulness facilitation certificate with NeuroNova for Mindful Solutions Inc., to help you stay in your window of tolerance while engaging in therapeutic sessions.
Depending on your therapeutic goals, we may explore your unconscious processes and past experiences to gain insight into current patterns of behaviour and emotions. I believe that by exploring your story, we can better understand, address and overcome current challenges.
I am committed to ongoing learning and growth as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in training. Staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field is crucial to providing effective and ethical care.
I feel honoured to be part of your journey towards healing and am committed to providing compassionate care for you to flourish and make meaningful and lasting change.
