In our work together, you can expect an empathic, supportive, and encouraging environment where we will work collaboratively to understand past and present issues and create tangible goals to create a better quality of life. By exploring and uncovering unconscious thoughts, feelings, and behavioural patterns, we can work together to produce lasting positive change.
As a registered Social Worker, I have experience supporting individuals with various life issues such as self-esteem, sense of self-efficacy, substance use, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. I practice from an authentic, transparent stance where trust is paramount.
In my personal time, I practice yoga regularly and believe strongly in the mind and body connection and releasing somatic stress. I also walk regularly, enjoy spending time in nature and around animals. I find cooking and experimenting with recipes a relaxing and creative form of self-care. One of my favourite ways to have downtime and recharge is to watch old movies.
Approaches: An integrative, collaborative approach that includes: Person-centered, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Psychoeducation and Psychodynamic.
